Be Prepared

Our volunteers are trained to deliver the award winning AdventureSmart program focused on SAR incident prevention by providing people with the knowledge to get informed and go outdoors.  Please contact us if you are looking into any of these programs.

Hug-a-Tree and Survive Program (for Children)

An initiative of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Hug-a-Tree and Survive Program teaches children the basic fundamentals of survival in the woods. The curriculum is geared towards children ages 5 – 12 and provides participants with invaluable knowledge and supplies for a child’s pack, incuding a whistle, high-visibility garbage bag and informative colouring book. The Hug-a-Tree program was developed in San Diego, California after the tragic death of a 9-year old boy who became lost in the wilderness.
